Each of those four will be back next year, joined by much-hyped incoming freshman Marcus Flores. The current 8th-grader at Hamlin Middle School has won each of his past 9 tournaments. It's no wonder the Texans are the talk of the district. And that's not just because of their laid-back attire.

"We don't exactly dress or look the part," said junior Joseph Hoskins. "When it comes down to it, we show who we are; because, the true golfer is on the inside, not the outside."Ray will compete in the Region IV-4A Tournament April 20-21 at San Antonio's Pecan Valley Golf Course. Joining the Texans is the Alice boys team, who finished runner-up at district.
