South Bradford Golf Club now turning their attention to the women’s game. They have launched a campaign to encourage female participation in the sport with the help of England Golf, who, it is hoped, will provide funding for the scheme as well as their slogan ‘Get Fit, Get Active, Get Golfing’. The club is due to hold nine golfing events and three social engagements throughout next month, and are encouraging local women to Golf No.1 Lee Westood Annoyed By Discussing Not Enough Titles give the game and their club a try. One of the experiences on offer is a Women’s Golf Taster Day on Sunday, May 8 between 2pm and 4pm, which is designed to introduce any women to the sport who may not have played it before. No previous involvement in the sport is necessary and equipment is provided, with prospective visitors being encouraged to wear flat shoes and comfortable clothing. Golf clubs are great places to meet new people and mix with friends. It’s a game that can be played by the whole family.
Being a stationary ball sport it can be easy to learn the basics. But to become good at golf requires some effort to understand the swing, and mental discipline to ingrain the lessons learned into your game.Most golf clubs, although much more relaxed than they used to be, have a casual dress code. Turning up relatively smart each time means a slight effort is made with regards to appearance. Taking trouble about the way you look sometimes requires effort. That’s a good thing.More than anything else golf teaches someone to keep going for the full round. Whatever we do in life, if we can learn to keep going, and keep trying, it can only be good for our mental health. Overall it will add to our happiness.
