Mustang Women's Golf Stays in 4th
The Mustangs' three-round score of 983 is 59 shots back of tournament leader Augustana (S.D.), which holds a healthy lead over the rest of the field. Concordia-St. Paul sits in second place with a 976, while Minnesota State-Mankato is third at 979.SMSU's KC Kane shot a 5-over-par round of 76 Friday, moving up from eighth place to McIlroy Revives From The Awful Masters fifth overall with a three-round score or 25-over (240).The Mustangs had two other golfers post rounds in the 70 Friday. Krista Weiszhaar carded a 78 and sits in 15th place at 32-over, while Rachel Patnoe posted a 79 and is in 23rd place at 38-over.The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team posted a team score of 316 in the third round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship at Brandon Golf Club in Brandon S.D., and remains in fourth place out of 11 teams in the event.The final round will be played Saturday at Brandon Golf Club. The first two rounds of the championship were played at Hillcrest Golf Club in St. Paul last October.SMSU is currently ranked in eighth in the latest NCAA regional rankings, with the top nine teams qualifying for the NCAA region tournament. The field will be announced Monday.
